Mikono Go · Kampala
Know where to go.
Your reps carry the route on a phone, and you see each stop land — the sale, the cash, the credit — while the trucks are still out.

What you are living with
The day ends before you know how it went.
The trucks left the depot at seven. At six in the evening you get a book, a phone call, or a photograph of a page. The stop that went wrong went wrong at half nine — you hear about it after the shop has shut and the cash has moved.
Every distributor in this trade runs on that lag, and it is not a discipline problem. The hands were always working. Nobody was looking, because there was nothing to look at until the paperwork came back.

stops done · Kampala Central
Where the day got to.
The rep’s list and your list are the same list. It fills in as they walk it — stop, time, amount, delivered — so the next line is visible from your desk and from the van.

Where nobody has been.
Coverage planning names every shop past its due date and every shop marked never visited, with the rep and the truck beside it. The gap in the beat stops being a feeling and becomes a row you hand to somebody.

Where the money is.
A credit sale posts to the customer’s account at the stop, not on Friday. What you are owed moves the moment the rep taps done, and the ageing ladder behind it is the same one your accountant reads.

Mikono Go for distributors
Stock leaves the depot and you learn what came back when the truck does. The rep runs the beat from the phone; every stop posts while the rep is standing in the shop.
Mikono Go for relationship teams
Customers are keyed on the phone number, not the email, because the customer has a phone and no email. Leads match on that key as they are typed; the complaint clock runs against the fourteen-day final response and stops while you are waiting on the customer.
Finance, stock, sales, procurement, payroll — PAYE, NSSF and LST computed on the run. Everything a rep or an officer does out there posts here, in shillings, double-entry on every line. Nothing gets typed a second time.
How it works
One entry closes the stop.
When the rep finishes a stop, the invoice, the stock movement, the cost of goods, the cash and the receipt post together as one entry. There is nothing to type up in the evening and nothing to reconcile on Friday morning.
It runs a full day with no signal. The phone holds the stops and posts them when it finds network.
- 06:10
- The truck is loaded and the route is in order
- 09:05
- The first stop posts — invoice, stock, cash
- 11:00
- Three reps out, one stop has not moved now
- 14:00
- The load goes on credit, and onto the customer
- 18:30
- The trip settles. Variance zero

Mikono Go is the phone in the rep’s hand. The Map is the screen on your desk. Both read the same book — finance, stock, payroll, all of it, in shillings.
More than one business
If you run more than one business.
You look after a holding company, a fund, an accelerator, or four brands in one warehouse. One login shows every business in the portfolio. Each business signs in and sees only its own books.
Revenue, estimated profit, capital in, customers, and how long since anyone last heard from them — every business on one register, in shillings. The ones that went quiet stand out before the quarterly review, not during it.

Before you ask
What it does not do.
Two lists. The first we chose, and the reason is beside each line. The second is being built. We would rather you read it here.
By choice
- It does not sync your email.
- The customer has a phone. The record works with nothing but the number. Two-way Gmail is a season of work for a market that does not do threaded email. We spend that season on the beat.
- It does not blast your customers.
- There is no campaign button and there will not be one. Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act gives a shopkeeper the right to refuse marketing, and the consent record was built before any send path was. A receipt is not a campaign.
- The assistant does not post to the books.
- Ask who owes you and it comes back with the ageing table; ask what is low in stock and it tells you. It cannot write a journal, move stock or touch cash. A CRM can let a bot edit records because the worst case is a wrong score. Mikono holds a ledger.
Not yet
- It does not send the message for you.
- Tap the number and WhatsApp or the dialler opens with it filled in; you write the message. Receipts and statements over WhatsApp are next.
- It does not prompt the shopkeeper’s phone for payment.
- The rep records the mobile money that came in and it posts against the invoice; cash and mobile money settle apart at the end of the trip. Sending the payment prompt from Mikono is on the list.
- It does not score the shelf.
- The rep photographs the shop front and the shelf when a shop is first surveyed, and the photos stay with the shop. Nobody grades a planogram from them yet.
- It does not buzz a locked phone.
- Alerts land the moment the app opens — a stop that has not moved, a visit that was missed. The buzz on a locked phone is being built.
Not that the work gets written down — any app writes it down. That you look at it while the day is still happening. Every system we could buy assumed a shop has an address, a customer has an email, the network is up. We built Mikono here. Both lists are on this page, because you should read them here and not find them on a Tuesday.
