Terms of service

These terms are the agreement under which a business uses Mikono. They also serve as the end-user licence agreement for the Mikono software, including its connection to QuickBooks Online.
Who this agreement is between
This agreement is between Craft Insights IO Limited, a company incorporated in Uganda, of Plot 60A, Ismael Road, Mbuya, Kampala, Uganda (“we”, “us”), and the business that uses Mikono (“you”). By using Mikono, or by letting your staff use it, you agree to these terms.
If you have a signed agreement with Craft Insights, the signed agreement prevails where the two differ.
Your licence to use Mikono
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Mikono for your own business operations during your subscription. The right extends to the users you authorise, such as your staff. It covers your own operations only.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- who you give access to, and what they do in Mikono;
- the accuracy of what you and your staff enter;
- keeping sign-in details safe;
- using Mikono lawfully;
- your own books, tax filings and accounting judgements.
Mikono posts to QuickBooks according to the settings you choose. Your accountant remains responsible for reviewing your books.
QuickBooks, WhatsApp, EFRIS and other third-party services
Mikono connects to services run by others: QuickBooks Online (Intuit), WhatsApp (Meta) and EFRIS (Uganda Revenue Authority). Each is governed by its own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, or for changes they make that affect how Mikono works with them.
Acceptable use
You must not, and must not let your users:
- try to break or get around Mikono’s security;
- reverse engineer Mikono;
- overload the service or interfere with its operation;
- use Mikono to send spam.
Your data
Your data stays yours. Our Privacy policy describes how we handle it and which service providers we use.
Fees
Fees are as set out in your order or agreement with us.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Mikono available, and we may improve or change features over time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Warranties and liability
To the extent the law allows, Mikono is provided as is, without warranties.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you under this agreement is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access for non-payment or misuse, after giving you notice. You can stop using Mikono at any time under the terms of your agreement. When the agreement ends, we export your data on request.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of Uganda. Disputes go to the courts of Uganda.
